The IDF said that its troops engaged in close combat with Hezbollah terrorists in an overnight ground operation Wednesday. The terrorists fired an anti-tank missile at the soldiers, who responded swiftly by drawing them into fighting at close quarters. The soldiers killed the terrorists in the encounter.

A combat officer was lightly injured during the operation and was transported to a hospital to receive medical attention. His family has been informed.

“The IDF will continue to operate decisively against the Hezbollah terrorist organization, which chose to attack Israel on behalf of the Iranian terrorist regime. The IDF will act to remove threats to Israeli civilians,” the IDF said in its statement on the operation.
