IDF Confirms Elimination of IRGC Navy Commander Alireza Tangsiri and Intelligence Chief in Strike on Bandar Abbas
The IDF confirms that overnight, the Israeli Air Force carried out a precision strike in Bandar Abbas, eliminating Alireza Tangsiri, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, along with Behnam Rezaei, head of its Intelligence Directorate.

According to the military, Tangsiri played a central role in coordinating Iranian naval operations in the Persian Gulf and was directly responsible for attacks on commercial vessels and efforts to disrupt global shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. He also led attempts to close the waterway during ongoing operations.
Rezaei was described as a key intelligence figure within the IRGC Navy, overseeing regional intelligence collection and coordination with allied networks.

The IDF says the strike represents a significant blow to Iran’s naval command structure and its ability to conduct maritime attacks, adding that operations against Iranian commanders will continue.
