A Jamesburg man was arrested after allegedly striking another individual with a belt during an early morning altercation on Clifton Avenue, TLS has learned.

At approximately 2:20 a.m. on March 21st, officers on patrol observed two males engaged in a verbal dispute in the area of 118 Clifton Avenue. During the incident, one of the individuals, identified as Kevin Vazquez, 29, of Jamesburg, allegedly removed his belt and struck the other male in the neck area.

Police quickly intervened, separating the individuals and preventing the situation from escalating further. The victim reported experiencing pain to his neck at the scene.

Vazquez was taken into custody without incident and transported to Lakewood Police Headquarters for processing.

He was subsequently charged with assault and a weapons-related offense before being transported to the Ocean County Jail.
