Trump–Carlson Feud Explodes: “Low-IQ Person,” President Fires Back
The falling out between former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and President Donald Trump appears to be official. Following a video post in which Carlson told White House staffers to resign rather than obey orders, Trump gave an interview to the New York Post Tuesday in which he did not mince words.
The rift has continued to widen just months after Carlson had been invited several times to lunch at the White House. It appeared to begin when Trump said that Carlson had “lost his way” and wasn’t true MAGA in response to Carlson calling the joint U.S.-Israel campaign “evil.”
Just yesterday, Carlson posted a response on X to Trump’s Truth Social post Sunday in which he warned Iran that its bridges and power plants would be bombed if Iran refused to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
“Desecrating Easter was the first step toward nuclear war,” he said. “Christians need to understand where Trump is taking us.”
In his video advising staffers to refuse Trump’s orders, Carlson said, “Those people who are in direct contact with the president need to say, ‘No, I’ll resign. I’ll do whatever I can do legally to stop this, because this is insane, and if you give the order, I’m not carrying it out. Figure out the codes on the football yourself.'”
In his interview, Trump pushed back on Tucker’s accusation that the United States is planning a nuclear war with Iran. “Tucker’s a low-IQ person that has absolutely no idea what’s going on,” he said. “He calls me all the time; I don’t respond to his calls. I don’t deal with him. I like dealing with smart people, not fools.”
