- New Jersey Human Services Commissioner has announced that his Department has fully reopened the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), restoring access to all eligible families seeking child care assistance. All new enrollments were frozen last August due to a funding shortage. In her proposed $60.7 billion state budget for Fiscal Year 2027, New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill included an additional $18 million for the program, which is projected to support for up to 77,500 children, or 2,500 more than the current year's budget.(Shlomoschorr)

- New Jersey drivers who have a vehicle inspection sticker set to expire between April and July of this year will get a three-month grace period due to the closure of the Newark Inspection Station this weekend. Vehicles with April expirations will now be extended to July, May stickers are good until August, June stickers are extended to September and July stickers are valid until October. (Onejersey) 

- BDE: Petirah of Hagaon Rav Chanoch Friedman zt”l, Rosh Kollel and Av Beis Din of Beis Yechiel in Har Nof, who passed away while in the US. He was known as a iluy a respected talmid chochom and marbitz Torah a mechaber sefoeim and was one of the youngest talmidim of Rav Aharon Kotler Zatzal. The levaya was scheduled for Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Congregation Adas Yeshurun, 3050 W Touhy Ave, Chicago, with a second levaya planned in Lakewood on Sunday 10 am at BMG, followed by kevurah in Eretz Yisrael.

- Report Lakewood Police say that drones spotted over sensitive areas during Pesach were part of an authorized security operation. The effort involved local police, county and state law enforcement, and Shomrim, providing coordinated aerial and ground coverage across Lakewood during Yom Tov. Specific monitored locations were not disclosed.

- BDE: Petirah of Rav Avrohom Altman zt”l, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivas Ateres Tzvi in Ashdod, passed away at the age of 94 after collapsing at his home. He had recently been weakened but was still able to daven in his bais medrash over Pesach. The levaya was held at Yeshivas Ateres Tzvi in Ashdod, and continued to Har Hamenuchos in Yerushalayim for kevurah.

- A tragic incident occurred at Tzanz Beach in Netanya on Friday, where two brothers were caught in the water. One was rescued in critical condition and taken unresponsive to Laniado Hospital in Netanya, while the second remains missing as search and rescue operations continue.
