
BDE: Lakewood Bochur Eli Schepansky Z”L Killed in Tragic Crash While Performing Chesed
Klal Yisroel is mourning the tragic petirah of Eli Schepansky z”l, an 18-year-old Lakewood bochur who was killed early Sunday morning in a devastating car crash in Hamilton, New Jersey.
Eli z”l, the beloved son of R’ Moshe and Mrs. Leah Schepansky, had traveled with a friend to Philadelphia in the early morning hours to perform a chesed for a friend. Tragically, on their way back, their vehicle was involved in a collision with a truck, resulting in Eli’s petirah.
Eli was a great-grandchild of the late Mirrer Rosh Yeshiva, Hagaon HaRav Shmuel Berenbaum Zt’L.
His friend, who was also in the car, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where he remains under medical care. His name for tehillim is Mordechai Zelig ben Blima. Askanim are actively working with local authorities in Hamilton to ensure proper kavod hameis and to assist the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time.Levaya details are expected to be announced as they become available.
