COGAT vs. Hamas: Dueling Narratives Over Gaza Aid

Apr 19, 2026·2 min read

Should you believe Hamas or the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT)? Hamas — and its partner in crime, the United Nations — would like you to believe that Israel is deliberately withholding aid and that Gaza is perpetually on the brink of famine.

But the facts, according to COGAT, tell a starkly different and far more positive story. Despite Hamas’ efforts to divert aid to fund its terror network, food is flowing into Gaza in volumes that exceed international requirements. Markets are overflowing with food and bustling with business. Even the U.N. was forced to concede, back in January, that for the first time since Oct. 7, 100 percent of Gazans’ basic food needs are being met.

In a dramatic online post, COGAT laid out the facts.

“Hamas wants you to see a collapse. The reality on the ground says otherwise,” the post said. “Food is filling the markets, enough for sustained amounts of time, medical centers are active, and aid is consistently exceeding international requirements.”

“The only real barrier? Hamas terror,” COGAT declared. “They cynically steal vital resources to power terror networks instead of providing for their own people.”

“The facts speak for themselves. Don’t believe Hamas lies,” COGAT urged.

Hamas is a terrorist organization committed to the eradication of Israel. COGAT is an organization that belongs to the government of a free and democratic society. You can choose whom to believe.
