Trump Awarded Israel Prize For ‘Special Contribution To The Jewish People’
US President Donald Trump has been named a recipient of the Israel Prize, the country’s highest civilian honor, during the annual Independence Day ceremony in Jerusalem.
Trump was first notified in December by Education Minister Yoav Kisch that he had been selected for the award in the category of “special contribution to the Jewish people.”
Kisch signed the official Israel Prize certificate honoring the US president on Tuesday, stating in a video distributed to the media that he did not believe there was “any other person who can mark such amazing achievements and a wonderful connection to the Jewish people except for Trump at this time.”
During the ceremony, a highlight reel showcased Trump’s pro-Israel actions across both of his presidential terms, including footage from the 2020 announcement of the Abraham Accords, his address to the Knesset in October of last year, and multiple meetings with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the past decade.
Trump is expected to travel to Israel in the coming months, where he will receive the award in person at a formal ceremony.
