
TRAGEDY: Sgt. Idan Fuchs HY”D Killed as Hezbollah Violates Ceasefire with Deadly Drone Strike
SOUTHERN LEBANON — The IDF has cleared for publication the name of Sgt. Idan Fuchs, a 19-year-old from Petah Tikva, who was killed in action this morning during a Hezbollah drone attack in Southern Lebanon. The tragic incident, which the military has termed a “blatant violation” of the current ceasefire.
The incident also left six other soldiers wounded, including four who remain in serious condition.
The incident began during the morning hours in the village of Al-Taybeh, located approximately four kilometers from the Israeli border. A tank operating under Golani’s 12th Battalion became disabled in the field, requiring the crew to exit the vehicle to repair a broken track. While the soldiers were working on the tank, Hezbollah terrorists launched an explosive suicide drone that detonated directly near the force.
The blast claimed the life of Sgt. Fuchs hy”d and wounded six of his comrades. Following the strike, an IAF rescue helicopter was scrambled and landed inside Lebanese territory to evacuate the casualties to a hospital in Israel. During the high-stakes evacuation, Hezbollah attempted to strike the rescue team by launching two additional explosive drones. Israeli forces managed to intercept one of the drones, while the second exploded just meters away from the helicopter as the wounded were being loaded.
Baruch Hashem, the aircraft was not damaged and no further injuries were reported during the rescue.

IDF officials are defining the attack as a severe breach of the ceasefire understandings. According to military data, more than 20 such “blatant violations” have been recorded since the ceasefire began.
Over the last week alone, Hezbollah has targeted Israeli forces in Southern Lebanon daily, utilizing suicide drones, UAVs, and anti-tank missiles in a series of ongoing terror provocations.
