Emergency responders were dispatched Sunday to a home in Bnei Brak after reports that a young child had ingested bleach. The approximately two-year-old was given initial treatment at the scene before being transported in stable condition to a hospital for further care.
The child was taken to Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer after swallowing a cleaning substance in his home. Rescue personnel and MDA paramedics who arrived quickly provided immediate medical assistance. According to responders, the toddler remained in stable condition while being transferred to the emergency room for continued treatment.
Following the incident, United Hatzolah issued a renewed warning to the public about the dangers of improperly stored cleaning products, particularly in homes with young children. They stressed the importance of keeping such materials secured in high or locked locations, out of children’s reach.
Hatzolah also emphasized a critical safety rule: cleaning substances should always remain in their original containers. Moving toxic liquids into drink bottles can confuse children, significantly increasing the risk of accidental ingestion and serious harm.
