PM Netanyahu, Katz, and IDF Chief Zamir Condemn “Wild Attack” as Peleg Protesters Storm Military Police Chief’s Home
ASHKELON — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir issued a rare wave of condemnation this evening, Tuesday, after Peleg Yerushalmi protesters breached the private residence of Military Police Chief Yuval Yamin.
The incident began as a surprise demonstration but quickly escalated when several individuals entered the officer’s private yard. Police moved in to detain those who trespassed, while others were loaded onto buses to be returned to their yeshivas.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: “I strongly condemn the wild and violent attack against the Chief Military Police Officer and demand that firm action be taken against those involved.”
Defense Minister Israel Katz: “Any harm or attempted harm to members of the security forces, and specifically to IDF commanders and soldiers, is the crossing of a red line. This is a group of violent criminals who must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said: “I strongly condemn the attack. Harm to security personnel and their families constitutes the crossing of a dangerous red line.”
