PHOTOS: Ocean County Sheriff’s Officers Give Drone Search-and-Rescue Presentation at Lakewood Cheder

Students at a Lakewood cheder today received a firsthand look at the role of modern technology in emergency response when Ocean County Sheriff’s Officers C. Mellott and P. Kennedy delivered a special drone presentation.

During the program, the officers spoke about search-and-rescue operations both on land and in the water, explaining how drones have become an essential tool in locating missing individuals. The children learned how these devices assist first responders by providing aerial views, covering large areas quickly, and helping guide rescue teams more effectively.

The officers also showcased several different types and sizes of drones, giving students an up-close understanding of the equipment used in real-life emergency situations.
