Question:

Dear Mayor,

I am writing regarding Wadsworth Park. The township has done a beautiful job with this park, creating a pleasant sitting area where parents and even elders can relax. The park also provides swings and slides for little children, which has made it a wonderful addition to the neighborhood.

There is still a nice section of the park that is not being used at all — the last piece of property closer to Shefa Chaim Avenue. I would like to respectfully propose installing some activities specifically for older kids and teens. The current park features are geared mainly toward little children, but older kids could really benefit from something as well, such as rope climbing structures and other more challenging equipment, similar to what the township installed at Locust Park.

I would also like to point out that the neighborhood has grown significantly since the park was first installed, with at least 50 (probably much more) additional houses or more in the area. As a result, the park has become quite crowded during peak times, and added features for older children would be very helpful for the community.

If I may add one additional request, I would also ask the township to consider using rubber flooring in the park instead of mulch, for both the existing and any future park areas. Rubber flooring is safer, neater, and much less messy.

Good morning

Thank you for your suggestions. I have passed them on to public works and asked them to work some improvements into our future plans.

We are also switching over to the rubber flooring when we install new equipment.
