More than 32,000 cyclists rode through New York City on Sunday as part of the annual TD Five Boro Bike Tour, a 40-mile ride across parts of all five boroughs.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani also took part in the event, becoming the first sitting mayor to complete the full bike tour across all five boroughs. He said he was excited to join the ride and be part of the event.

The tour, considered the largest charitable bike ride in the country, supports year-round bike education programs and draws participants of all ages and skill levels.

The event led to widespread street and highway closures throughout the city on Sunday, which brought heavy traffic to the streets, as cyclists made their way through the five boroughs.
