EXPOSED: Watchdog Probe Finds Four More UNRWA Staffers Linked to Oct. 7 Attack
A U.S. government watchdog has revealed four more staffers from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) who participated in the Oct. 7 attack that killed 1,200 Israelis, including dozens of Americans, as well as the abduction and holding of hostages, 251 of whom were taken to Gaza, according to a New York Post report.
The USAID Office of Inspector General identified three of them as teachers and one as a social worker, teaching children and performing social services by day, killing children and abducting civilians by night.
The IG is conducting a criminal probe into about 100 UNRWA staffers suspected of working with Hamas, with these four now added to the total. Twenty-one so far have been confirmed to have ties to the terror group or to have participated in the Oct. 7 attack.
“The recent investigation by the USAID IG confirms that the U.N. is deficient in vetting its own staff for ties to terrorist organizations,” an unnamed source from the State Department told the outlet.
“As the U.N itself doesn’t consider Hamas a terrorist organization, both U.N. agencies and local NGOs may still hire Hamas-affiliated staff that place programs at high risk for diversion. This will not be tolerated.”
President Donald Trump signed an executive order in 2025 cutting aid to UNRWA, which received $1.5 billion in aid during the Biden administration, while $1 billion was diverted to Hamas, leading to a lawsuit that ended with a Manhattan federal judge ruling that the group has immunity from such claims as a U.N. organization.
The Department of Justice has moved to strip UNRWA of immunity and has also filed an appeal of the ruling.
StandWithUs reacted with a snide comment on X to the new revelations.
“ACT SURPRISED,” the Jewish advocacy group snarked. “Four former or current UNRWA employees have been found by USAID to have taken part in the October 7, 2023, Hamas massacre and/or to have ties to terror group Hamas.”
“UNRWA isn’t just complicit, it’s directly involved in Hamas’ terrorism,” the group added.
Responding to this post, Leo Terrell, senior counsel at the DOJ and head of the task force to combat antisemitism, posted a pithy rejoinder: “Jail them!”
