🚨MASSIVE SNAP SCAM HITTING BORO PARK: Families Losing Thousands After Fraudsters Drain Benefit Cards
By BoroPark24 Staff
A major scam targeting SNAP recipients is reportedly sweeping through Boro Park, with hundreds - and possibly thousands - of families allegedly having their benefit cards emptied within minutes after receiving fraudulent phone calls from individuals posing as government representatives.
According to numerous local reports, scammers are calling residents claiming there is an issue with their SNAP or EBT account and asking victims to “verify” personal information, including their PIN numbers. Once the scammers obtain the PIN, the SNAP accounts are reportedly drained almost immediately, often before victims even realize what happened.
Residents say the stolen funds are then quickly spent at various stores, leaving families without critical food money and with little chance of recovering the stolen benefits.
The scam has reportedly impacted many local grocery stores, bakeries, and food establishments throughout Boro Park, with shocked victims discovering thousands of dollars missing from their accounts.
Residents should be extremely cautious and remember:
- The government will NEVER call asking for your PIN number.
- Never share your EBT or SNAP PIN with anyone over the phone.
- If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately.
- Change your PIN frequently and monitor your account activity closely.
Families who believe they were targeted are encouraged to immediately contact EBT customer service and report the fraud to authorities.
👉Residents are being asked to spread the warning quickly as concerns grow that more families could fall victim to the scam.
