
Rockland County District Attorney Honors Local Law Enforcement Officers At Inaugural Excellence In Resilience Awards {PHOTOS}
Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II and Director of Programs Lisa Foglia hosted the inaugural Excellence in Resilience Awards on May 29 at the Crestview Conference Center, recognizing members of law enforcement whose dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving others embody the power of resilience.
The event, themed “Resilience as a Revolution,” focused on the importance of wellness and support in trauma-exposed professions, emphasizing how prosecutors, police officers, and public servants can continue serving their communities with compassion, integrity, and dignity by prioritizing resilience and mental well-being.
Attendees also heard inspiring keynote presentations from Robert Czepiel Jr. and NYPD Detective Ivan Marcano, who shared personal insights on the importance of strong support systems for those working on the front lines of public safety and justice.
The Excellence in Resilience Awards were presented to Sgt. Christopher Bax of the Clarkstown Police Department, Sgt. Andres Sanchez of the Ramapo Police Department, and Police Officer Luis Maldonado of the Ramapo Police Department.
Honorable Mentions were awarded to Detective Valerie Mendez of the Ramapo Police Department, Detective Andre Riobe of the Spring Valley Police Department, and Sgt. Christian Mendez of the Haverstraw Town Police Department.
The Rockland County District Attorney’s Office also thanked its law enforcement partners, county agencies, and community organizations for their continued collaboration and commitment to serving the residents of Rockland County.
