A Lakewood resident has been scammed out of over $40,000, TLS has learned.

According to information obtained by TLS, the woman had apparently met someone online, and trusted him to the point where she sent over wires totaling over $40,000.

Like other scams, the chances of recovering the funds are slim.

Residents are reminded never to share financial information or send money, unless it’s from a verified source.

Additionally, anyone demanding to meet up to have you hand deliver cash, is likely a scammer.
