Hamas Nukhba terrorist Sabaei Zahir Abd al-Hamid Abu Hasna, who infiltrated Israel during the October 7 massacre and held hostage Omer Shem Tov in captivity, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in northern Gaza over the weekend, the IDF announced.

According to the military, Abu Hasna was eliminated in a strike on Saturday. He was a member of Hamas’s elite Nukhba Force and was involved in the abduction and captivity of Shem Tov.

During Shem Tov’s release from Hamas captivity, Abu Hasna was seen in the terror group’s staged handover ceremony, where Hamas cameramen directed the hostage to kiss him on the head while filming the event.

The IDF says Abu Hasna infiltrated Israel on October 7, 2023, participated in the massacre, held Shem Tov hostage during the war, planted explosive devices throughout the conflict, and in recent weeks was involved in attempts to carry out attacks against IDF troops operating in Gaza.

In a separate strike over the weekend, the military says three additional Hamas operatives who were attempting to carry out attacks against Israeli forces were also eliminated.

The IDF has intensified operations against Hamas terrorists in Gaza in recent months, including numerous October 7 attackers, stating that they continued to pose a threat to Israeli forces.
