The IDF Spokesperson clarified after an examination that an early warning alert, as well as a standard alert, had been activated at the scene of the impact in Beit Shemesh.
It was also reported that in the latest barrage, a man in his 50s was moderately injured by shrapnel in a community in central Israel.
MDA emergency medic Yosef Laufer said: “When we arrived, we observed significant destruction at the scene and residents who had been rescued from the building. We provided medical treatment to several casualties, including a 10-year-old girl in critical condition, and several others with varying degrees of injury. MDA teams remain at the scene to continue treating additional victims who have not yet been rescued.”
The incident occurred in the old section of Beit Shemesh, where public shelters are in some places located outside buildings and not under the buildings themselves. The public shelter which was hit served as a synagogue for surrounding buildings.
