The names of three other victims, all children from the same family, have not yet been revealed.
The four other victims were identified as Oren Katz, Gavriel Revach, and Ronit and Sarah Elimelech HYD.
The attack occurred at 1:45 PM on Sunday in a residential area of Beit Shemesh. The local shelter is not located under individual buildings but rather under a synagogue in the vicinity. This means that the warning time from a siren is not always enough for people to make it to the shelter.
An initial inquiry revealed that six of the nine victims of the tragedy had been outside the shelter when they were hit. An additional 28 people who were in the shelter were saved, although some of them were injured. One of the victims, Oren Katz, had gone up the stairs to lock the shelter.
“You went upstairs to lock the shelter. Yesterday it exacted a heavy price. I love you, Oren,” eulogized Smadar for her husband Oren Katz, who was killed yesterday in the attack.
Their son, Yosef, eulogized his father: “Yesterday you came home so that we would have something to eat. I’m glad I managed to eat your food one last time. We survived and you didn’t.”
