IDF Strikes Iran’s Leadership Compound in Tehran Heart, Hits Presidential Bureau, Security Council HQ in Massive Overnight Air Assault

JERUSALEM (VINnews)-The Israeli Air Force struck Iran’s central “leadership complex” in Tehran overnight, targeting key government and security buildings in the heart of the Iranian capital, the Israel Defense Forces said Tuesday.

The IDF reported that approximately 100 fighter jets participated in the operation, dropping more than 250 bombs on the heavily fortified compound, which spans multiple streets and is described by the military as one of the most secured assets in Iran.

“The leadership complex of the terror regime is the most important and central headquarters for the Iranian terror regime,” the IDF said in a statement. It added that the site serves as a primary location for high-level meetings and decision-making by Iran’s leadership and security officials.

Among the buildings hit were Iran’s presidential bureau, the headquarters of the Supreme National Security Council, a compound used by the regime’s “most senior forum” for gatherings, and an institution for training Iranian army officers, according to the IDF.

The military emphasized that Iranian leaders, including security officials, frequently convened at the complex to conduct situation assessments on topics such as the Iranian nuclear program and plans aimed at destroying Israel.

“The leadership and security officials of the terror regime convened in the compound frequently, and from there conducted, among other things, situation assessments regarding the Iranian nuclear program and the advancement of the plan to destroy the State of Israel,” the IDF said.

The strikes come amid an ongoing U.S.-Israeli military campaign against Iran that began late last month, which has included the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and numerous other senior officials in earlier waves of attacks. The operations have targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities, missile sites, air defenses, command structures and proxy networks across the region.

Iran has responded with retaliatory missile and drone strikes on Israel and U.S. interests, while the conflict has widened to include actions against Iran-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon.

No immediate confirmation of casualties or damage from Iranian sources was available in the immediate aftermath of the overnight operation, as communications from Tehran remain limited amid the escalating hostilities.

The IDF described the strike as a precise effort guided by intelligence to further degrade the Iranian regime’s command and control capabilities.
