Sid Rosenberg Attacks Mamdani as ‘Cockroach,’ Stirs Social Media Firestorm
NEW YORK (VINnews) — Radio host Sid Rosenberg, known for his close relationship with President Donald Trump, reignited controversy on X by calling New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani a “Radical Islam cockroach” and a “Jihadist America hating mayor,” while urging Trump to intervene.
In the post Monday night, Rosenberg labeled Mamdani a “terrorist sympathizer” and said Trump should “put this little antisemite in his place,” citing the mayor’s criticisms of immigration enforcement and U.S. military operations in the Middle East.
Rosenberg followed up Tuesday morning with another tweet saying, “I woke up to a ton of new tweets from former and current highly and not so highly elected Democrat pols here in New York. Hochul, de Blasio, and Levine to name a few. My friend called it a ‘Democrat Circular Firing Squad!’ I told the truth about @NYCMayor. They attack my choice of words but can’t argue the true content!”
Some supporters defended Rosenberg, saying he was simply telling the truth. Former mayoral candidate Jim Walden tweeted that Rosenberg’s harsh language was “poor word choice” but that Mamdani had “NEVER denied his sympathies for terrorists, nor has the media ever confronted him on it.” Walden added, “Everything else @sidrosenberg19 said is spot on. Spot on. Spot on.”
Rosenberg, who has been a steadfast supporter of Israel since the Oct. 7 attack and has continuously raised his voice to defend Jews, has been recognized as one of the fiercest voices in public radio to call out hate against Jews.
The posts drew swift rebukes from local Democrats and civil rights advocates, who condemned the language as inflammatory and Islamophobic. Some listeners of WABC, where Rosenberg hosts his radio show, tweeted calls for the station to fire him over the comments.
Mamdani, the city’s first Muslim mayor, has previously condemned such attacks as rooted in prejudice, emphasizing his role as a leader for all New Yorkers. Critics said the posts underscored ongoing concerns about hate speech and political polarization on social media, particularly in public discourse involving elected officials.
This coming from the worst Governor in the history of our state. You must have better things to do than tweet me? No Kathy? https://t.co/A6Wm6Q7x99

Inciting violence against Jews and spawning protests that call for “death to America”? That’s “disgusting.” Supporting U.S. enemies is “disgusting.” Attacking private property rights is “disgusting.” Defunding and discrediting the police is “disgusting.” Robbing public-service… https://t.co/vikRgTLsKT

Calling the mayor of NYC a “Radical Islam cockroach” is absolutely disgusting.
NYC’s nearly 1 million Muslim residents are a vibrant, diverse and wonderful part of our city and they deserve much better than this bigotry. https://t.co/lTzfY0S0WF

Sid, you really don’t know anything about @ZohranKMamdani. @NYCMayor loves our city and our country, hates all forms of prejudice, opposes political violence and wants to unify us. Which is helluva lot more than I can say for you since you just can’t stop spewing hate. https://t.co/NWkdFOU4xI

Why are you tweeting about @sidrosenberg19 from your government account?
Btw, chatting globalize the intifada is divisive, hateful, AND dangerous yet you decided to endorse the Boy Blunder @NYCMayor instead of calling for him to denounce it. https://t.co/3VL5iMhzrp

If you truly believe hate has no home in New York, aim your outrage at antisemitic Mayor Mamdani, not at a talk show star defending Jewish people from the man living in Gracie Mansion.

.@NYCMayor Zohran Mamdani is antisemitic and supports the destruction of Israel. Will you defend that, @MarkLevineNYC? https://t.co/qqTKmzRlxr
