IDF Targets IRGC Officials Supporting Hezbollah In Beirut Hotel Strike

Mar 8, 2026·3 min read

JERUSALEM (VINnews) — The Israel Defense Forces carried out a strike overnight Saturday on a hotel in Beirut where senior officials from the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were staying.

According to military sources, the target of the strike was a meeting room in the hotel where a gathering was taking place. According to assessments, at least five senior officials were present, serving as liaison figures between Iran and Hezbollah and providing logistic and financial support to the terrorist organization.

The Lebanese Health Ministry reported that four people were killed and ten others were injured. Among those killed, according to military sources, were also senior intelligence operatives and officials responsible for financial operations, in what the Israeli military describes as a significant blow to the coordination channel between Iran and Hezbollah.

A military source added that the Israeli military inflicted a major blow on Iranian Revolutionary Guard personnel operating in Lebanon.

“We warned them to leave Lebanon, but they did not leave and were eliminated. We will also target additional senior officials who remain in Lebanon,” the source said.

According to military sources, about 200 terrorists have been killed in Lebanon during the operations. The Israeli military noted that the strikes are continuing daily and without limitations.

The Saudi channel Al-Hadath reported that following the strike and a warning issued by the IDF spokesperson, an aircraft evacuated about 117 Iranian civilians from Lebanon. According to the report, the plane flew toward Russia.

Earlier today, the Lebanese channel Al-Jadeed reported that a Russian aircraft evacuated dozens of Iranian diplomats and five bodies of Iranian nationals, including three women, to Turkey.

Two days ago, the Israeli Air Force struck and destroyed 16 aircraft at Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran, which belonged to the Quds Force and were used to transfer weapons and money to Hezbollah and other proxies of the Iranian regime in the Middle East.

The airport, which served as a hub for arming and financing terrorist operations, was considered a key target due to the unit’s extensive use of aircraft loaded with weapons.

In addition, several Iranian fighter jets were also struck, as they posed a threat to the Israeli Air Force during its operations in Iranian airspace.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military continues intensifying strikes against Iranian regime targets, particularly those described as “force-build-up targets.” For the first time since the beginning of the campaign, attacks have also targeted fuel depots.
