JERUSALEM (VINnews) — The Lebanon-based militant group Hezbollah launched about 100 rockets toward northern Israel late Wednesday, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

Air-raid sirens sounded in several areas, including Haifa, as well as across the Galilee and the Golan Heights.

Israeli military officials said the rockets were fired from multiple locations in southern Lebanon. The barrage appeared to be the largest launched by Hezbollah since cross-border hostilities intensified earlier this month.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.
