Israel has informed the United States that it is facing a serious shortage of ballistic missile interceptors, according to a report published by the SEMAFOR news agency.
The outlet, which is known for its anti-Israel stance, cited U.S. officials who confirmed that the issue had been communicated to the American administration.
One of the officials said Washington had already been aware of the situation for some time. “for months,” the official said, adding, “It’s something we expected and anticipated.”
Despite Israel’s reported shortage, the official stressed that the United States itself is not experiencing the same problem and has sufficient defensive resources available. “We have all that we need to protect our bases and our personnel in the region and our interests.”
Israeli officials indicated that steps are already being taken to address the shortage and ensure the country can continue defending against missile threats. Israel, they said, is “coming up with solutions” to deal with the current limitations.
Sources in Israel also emphasized that the ongoing conflict with Iran is being conducted in close coordination with the United States, which significantly strengthens Israel’s ability to manage logistical and supply challenges.
According to those sources, the joint nature of the campaign enables both countries to replenish missile defense stockpiles during the fighting and provides additional flexibility should the conflict last longer than initially expected.
