Report: Israel to Mobilize Up to 450,000 Troops as Lebanon Operation Looms
JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Israel is preparing for a possible ground operation in southern Lebanon and is expected to ask the government to approve the call-up of up to 450,000 reservists, significantly exceeding the current cap of 260,000, according to Kan News Sunday night.
The move comes amid ongoing strikes on Hezbollah targets and discussions about expanding buffer zones in southern Lebanon. The proposal is expected to go before cabinet ministers and the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee for approval, with officials coordinating related security measures with the United States.
