SAN JOSE, Calif. (VINnews) — Three men have been arrested in connection with an attack on two Israeli Americans last week, San Jose police said Monday.

The incident occurred March 8 outside a restaurant on Santana Row. Video circulating online shows the suspects striking the victims while bystanders shouted for the assault to stop. The victims said they were targeted after speaking Hebrew.

Police did not release the suspects’ names or charges but said the investigation is continuing. The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s office will provide additional details.

“Acts of hatred and antisemitism have no place in San Jose,” Mayor Matt Mahan said on X, noting he had been in touch with law enforcement and local Jewish leaders. Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office also condemned the attack.

Authorities said the three suspects “surrendered to law enforcement today without incident.” The victims are Lior Zeevi, 47, and Daniel Levy, 48, both from Haifa, Israel.

Police emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and those responsible will be held accountable.
