TEL AVIV, Israel — Two people in their 70s were killed Tuesday when an Iranian ballistic missile struck the Tel Aviv suburb of Ramat Gan, Magen David Adom said. The couple, reported by Hebrew media, were seriously wounded and died at the scene. Initial reports indicate they were on their way to a bomb shelter.
A 25-year-old man in nearby Bnei Brak suffered a minor shrapnel injury to his hand and was taken to Tel Aviv’s Ichilov Hospital. The missile, equipped with a cluster warhead, was part of a broader Iranian strike targeting central Israel overnight.
The attacks caused damage at multiple sites, including Tel Aviv’s Savidor train station, forcing a temporary suspension of service. Firefighters also responded to several blazes in the Petah Tikvah area.
Israeli authorities say the barrage is the latest in a series of Iranian missile strikes targeting the country, with prior attacks damaging infrastructure and prompting widespread air raid sirens. Security forces remain on high alert, and rescue teams are continuing to assess impact sites.
