The Israeli Air Force on Wednesday carried out its first strike in the Caspian Sea, hitting several Iranian navy vessels in a significant geographical expansion of its war against Iran.
According to Axios, over five vessels were attacked.
The strike is a severe blow to Iran’s navy, which has already suffered heavy losses, and according to President Trump, has been effectively destroyed.
The IDF announced that it carried out strikes in northern Iran. “Israeli Air Force, acting on navy and IDF intelligence, began striking targets in northern Iran for the first time during Operation Roaring Lion,” the statement said.”
The Caspian Sea is bordered by Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.
