Foreign Worker Killed In Sharon Missile Strike

Mar 19, 2026·3 min read

A tragic incident occurred late Wednesday night in the moshav of Adanim in the southern Sharon region, when a foreign worker in his 20s was killed by a missile strike during the latest barrage from Iran.

According to initial findings by Central District police officers who arrived first at the scene, it appears that the man tried to take shelter under a tractor garage structure located near the residential caravan where he lived.

The investigation indicates that the worker likely did not manage to reach a proper protected space and hoped the improvised structure would shield him. However, an Iranian missile exploded nearby. The force of the blast, along with the shockwave and numerous fragments, struck his entire body. Medical teams were forced to pronounce him dead at the scene. Police and the Home Front Command are now examining whether adequate and accessible protection solutions exist in the community for workers in the area.

Eitan Ozer, the farm owner who employed the victim, told N12:
“This young man worked for me for six months. I loved him dearly. He was a young man who loved to work, and we were like a family. We were together all day. All 24 Thai workers are part of us. In the previous war, a missile fell at my front door and, by miracle, no one was hurt—this time we weren’t so lucky.”

MDA paramedic Idan Shina said:
“When we arrived, we were led to an agricultural area where we identified an impact from interception fragments in a shed. Metal shrapnel was scattered around, and nearby lay a man of about 25, unconscious and suffering from severe shrapnel injuries. We performed medical checks, but the injuries were extremely severe, and unfortunately we had to pronounce him dead at the scene.”

Population and Immigration Authority data shows that about 1,000 foreign workers have left Israel so far, many of them specialists who came for specific projects. At the same time, 285 workers have entered through land crossings.

Authorities emphasize that intensive efforts are being made to ensure the safety of the remaining workers, including distributing informational videos and notices in 10 languages detailing Home Front Command guidelines. A multilingual hotline has also been launched, and employers have been issued clear instructions stressing their legal obligation to provide adequate protection in accordance with security directives.

At the same time as the fatal incident in the Sharon region, missile impacts involving cluster munitions were reported at several locations in Tel Aviv. In one case, a person was treated for smoke inhalation but left shortly afterward.

In another location, a munition landed directly on a city street. Fortunately, this incident caused no casualties, though infrastructure damage was reported.
