IDF: Israeli Air Force Eliminates IRGC Spokesperson Ali Mohammad Naini in Overnight Strike
JERUSALEM (VINnews)-The Israel Defense Forces announced Friday that its Air Force, guided by Military Intelligence, conducted an overnight strike that eliminated Ali Mohammad Naini, the spokesperson and head of the public relations division for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The IDF described Naini as a key figure in the regime’s propaganda apparatus, noting that he had held various roles in communications and propaganda over the years. For the past two years, he served as the IRGC’s chief propagandist, disseminating what the military called “terror propaganda” to Iranian proxies across the Middle East to incite and support attacks against Israel from multiple fronts.
Naini’s killing marks the latest in a series of targeted operations against senior Iranian regime officials amid ongoing hostilities.
Iranian state media, including reports from Tasnim and state television, confirmed Naini’s death, describing him as having been “martyred” in what they termed a “criminal cowardly terrorist attack by the American-Zionist side at dawn.” Some Iranian accounts attributed the strike to joint U.S.-Israeli action, though the IDF statement specified it as an Israeli Air Force operation.
The IDF vowed to continue operations “with strength and determination” against leaders and commanders of the Iranian regime.
Naini, who assumed the IRGC spokesperson role in 2024, was a prominent voice in the organization’s messaging. His elimination follows recent strikes that have targeted other high-ranking Iranian figures.
No further details on the strike’s location or additional casualties were immediately provided by the IDF.
