IRAN SAYS FAKE NEWS: Denies Any Negotiations With U.S., Rejects Trump Claims
Senior Iranian officials are denying any negotiations with the United States, rejecting claims by President Donald Trump that talks are underway.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf dismissed reports that he had been in contact with U.S. envoys, calling the claims “fake news” aimed at manipulating markets and distracting from what he described as U.S. and Israeli failures.
“Our people demand the complete and humiliating punishment of the aggressors,” Ghalibaf said, adding that officials remain fully aligned with Iran’s leadership.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry also denied any direct talks with Washington. Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said that while messages have been passed through “friendly countries,” no negotiations have taken place during what he described as the past 24 days of an “imposed war.”
Baghaei warned that any attack on Iran’s critical infrastructure would trigger a “decisive, immediate and effective” response by Iranian forces.
He added that Iran’s positions — including on the Strait of Hormuz and conditions for ending the war — remain unchanged.
