NAHARIYA, Israel (VINnews) — A Hezbollah rocket strike on the northern Israeli city of Nahariya killed one man and wounded 14 others Thursday, emergency services said.
Magen David Adom medics declared a man in his 30s dead at the scene. They treated a man in his 50s who was seriously injured by shrapnel, the ambulance service said.
Another 13 people were listed in good condition after being hit by shrapnel or the blast from the rocket, according to MDA. The service also treated 11 people for acute anxiety.
All 25 people were taken to a hospital.
The strike was part of a barrage of rockets fired from Lebanon toward the Western Galilee, with air raid sirens sounding across the region.
No further details on the victims’ identities were immediately released.
Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for recent rocket and drone attacks on northern Israel, including strikes targeting Nahariya. Israeli officials have vowed to respond to the ongoing fire from Lebanon.
