🚨 MAJOR BUILDUP: Pentagon Weighs Sending 10,000 More U.S. Troops Near Iran
The Pentagon is weighing plans to send up to 10,000 additional U.S. ground troops to the Middle East, significantly expanding military options for President Donald Trump as he considers potential talks with Iran, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.
The proposed deployment would reportedly include infantry units and armored vehicles, adding to the roughly 5,000 Marines and thousands of paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division already sent to the region.
Officials say the additional forces would likely be positioned within striking distance of Iran, including near Kharg Island—a critical hub for the country’s oil exports.
Trump has repeatedly stated his intention to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, even without allied support.
“All announcements regarding troop deployments will come from the Department of War. As we have said, President Trump always has all military options at his disposal,” said White House deputy press secretary Anna Kelly.
A spokesperson for U.S. Central Command declined to comment on the report.
