Singer Yoni Zigelboum, known professionally as Yoni Z, has welcomed his first child, sharing the news with an emotional message following the birth of a baby girl after a lengthy labor.

“With endless gratitude to Hashem,” the singer announced the arrival of his daughter, writing, “After 60 hours of labor, our daughter has arrived 🎀”.

He went on to describe the experience and praise his wife, writing, “There are no words to describe what I just witnessed my wife do. A woman of unshakeable strength and boundless love – you are the greatest. To our little girl, you were worth every single moment of the wait. The world just got a whole lot more beautiful, and our home just got a whole lot more full, Baruch Hashem 💞”.

The baby naming is scheduled to take place this Shabbos at the Altneu Shul in Manhattan.

The birth comes just over a year after Zigelboum announced his engagement. On January 13, 2025, he revealed that he was engaged to Ashley Eden, a financial technology professional from Mexico City.

Zigelboum, 33, grew up in Crown Heights and currently resides on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. He comes from a diverse background, with Persian heritage on his mother’s side and European roots on his father’s side, and was raised in the Chabad community.

Educated at United Lubavitch Yeshiva of Crown Heights and later at Yeshiva of Lubavitch in Monsey, he left the traditional yeshiva framework at a young age after being encouraged by a rebbi to pursue a different path, ultimately leading him into the world of music.

He began performing at weddings as a teenager and gradually built a name for himself in the Jewish music scene, eventually adopting the stage name “Yoni Z” after audiences found his surname difficult to pronounce.

His debut album, Yoni Z, was released in 2018, followed by his second album, Ahava, in 2022. He has since released various singles and is currently working on additional projects.

Beyond his music career, Zigelboum has faced significant personal challenges. Two years ago, he was seriously injured in a motorbike accident in Italy, sustaining multiple fractures and undergoing a long recovery process that lasted over a year.

Despite his success, Zigelboum has spoken openly about the long and often difficult journey to finding his shidduch, noting that he dated extensively over the years before meeting his wife.

Now, with the birth of his first child, the singer enters the new chapter of fatherhood, b’chasdei Hashem.
