It was initially reported that the girl was injured after she fell from her bunk bed during a siren. However, according to an update by Dr. Hilel Frankenthal, a specialist in Pediatric Intensive Care at Ziv Hospital in Tzfas, the girl suffered cardiac arrest during the siren for unclear reasons.

Medical teams who arrived at the scene found her without a pulse and not breathing. They began prolonged resuscitation efforts, including the use of a defibrillator. After extensive efforts, they were able to restore her pulse, and she was evacuated for further treatment. It was later reported that she regained consciousness, to the joy of her family.
