Iranian President Warns Of Economic Collapse Within A Month If War Continues
JERUSALEM (VINnews) — The Iranian opposition channel Iran International reports a deep rift between Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, and the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Ahmad Vahidi. The main dispute concerns the management of the war and its destructive impact on the already severe economic situation facing the country’s citizens.
President Pezeshkian sharply criticized the continuation of Iranian attacks in Gulf countries and warned that without an immediate ceasefire, Iran’s economy could collapse completely within less than a month. He demanded that governing authority be returned to the civilian government, but faced outright refusal from Vahidi, who accused the government of previous economic failures.
On the ground, signs of crisis are already clearly visible in major cities: most ATMs are empty of cash, and online banking services are frequently crashing. Many public sector workers report not receiving regular salaries over the past three months, increasing public unrest.
In Israel, officials also identify growing pressure within the Iranian system, noting that conditions are emerging that could destabilize the regime. Experts assess that the deadlock between the military leadership and the political leadership reflects a critical struggle for the future of the Islamic Republic.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament Kamran Ghazanferi announced that if Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, continues his efforts to end the war, parliament will move to dismiss him at the earliest opportunity.
Referring to Araghchi’s remarks, Ghazanferi said: “Mr. Araghchi said his mission is to end the war and that we will celebrate victory in the coming days. Mr. Araghchi, who gave you such an order? The leadership did not give you such an order. If Araghchi continues to act this way, we will ensure his removal at the earliest opportunity.”
He added that the Islamic Republic’s conditions for ending the war include the closure of U.S. bases in the region, and that Israel must also accept that it has been defeated and surrender to the terms of the Islamic Republic.
