Injured Flight Attendant Seen in Hospital After Laguardia Crash, Daughter Details Severe Injuries
NEW YORK (VINnews) — The daughter of a flight attendant injured in last week’s crash at LaGuardia Airport posted a photo of her mother in a hospital bed and shared details of her condition in an online fundraiser.
Solange Tremblay, a veteran crew member on a regional flight operated by Air Canada, was thrown from the aircraft during the March 22 collision, according to information provided by her daughter on a GoFundMe page set up to assist with medical costs.
Her daughter said Tremblay was found on the runway still strapped into her seat and suffered multiple serious injuries, including severe fractures to both legs requiring surgery and implanted metal supports.
She also sustained a spinal fracture and extensive soft tissue injuries to her legs, and has undergone multiple procedures, including a blood transfusion following complications, the post said.
The crash occurred when the aircraft, arriving from Montreal, collided with an emergency vehicle on the runway, causing heavy damage to the cockpit area and killing both pilots, authorities said.
