IDF Northern Command Chief Visits Bint Jbeil as Forces Deepen Operations in Southern Lebanon
BINT JBEIL, LEBANON (VINnews) – The commander of the Israel Defense Forces’ Northern Command conducted a situational assessment in the southern Lebanese town of Bint Jbeil on Tuesday, as Israeli troops pressed a significant ground operation against Hezbollah infrastructure in the area.
Major Gen. Rafi Milo, accompanied by Brig. Gen. Guy Levy, commander of the 98th Division, and Col. R., commander of the Paratroopers Brigade, reviewed operations in the field, the IDF said.
“In recent days, we have surrounded the area and begun operating in Bint Jbeil. This is a significant operational maneuver,” Milo said. “At the same time, IDF troops are operating throughout the forward defense area to dismantle Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure. We will continue to act with determination to remove threats and ensure the security of our northern residents.”
The visit comes amid ongoing IDF efforts to push Hezbollah forces back from the Israeli border and neutralize terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon. Bint Jbeil, a key town in the region, has long been considered a Hezbollah stronghold.
Footage and photographs released by the IDF show the commanders during the assessment in southern Lebanon.

Israeli forces have intensified operations in the area in recent days as part of efforts to secure the northern border and allow for the safe return of residents evacuated from communities near Lebanon.
