WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump on Thursday sharply criticized New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, accusing him of mismanaging the city and driving residents away.
In a social media post, Trump said New York is “being destroyed” and warned that current tax policies would worsen conditions, arguing that federal support should not be used to offset what he described as local policy failures.
Trump also claimed that residents are leaving the city and urged officials to change course quickly.
City Hall did not immediately respond to the remarks.
