(VINnews) – President Donald Trump on Friday pointed to a new poll showing stronger support among Republicans than former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, while launching a series of personal attacks against the commentator and other media figures.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump called Carlson a “low IQ person” and said he was “easy to beat” and “highly overrated.”

The remarks followed a survey conducted by the University of Massachusetts Lowell’s Center for Public Opinion, which found 77% of Republicans viewed Trump favorably, compared with 31% who said the same of Carlson. The poll showed Trump with a net favorability of 61 points among Republicans, while Carlson’s stood at 7 points.

Trump also criticized other conservative media personalities in the same post, including Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens and Alex Jones.

The comments reflect ongoing tensions within conservative media and political circles as Trump continues to dominate support among Republican voters.
