HY’D: IDF Reservist Lidor Porat Killed, Nine Soldiers Wounded by Hezbollah Bomb in Southern Lebanon

Apr 19, 2026·1 min read

An IDF reservist was killed and nine others were wounded — including one seriously — after an explosive device detonated during operations in southern Lebanon, the IDF announced.

The fallen soldier has been identified as Sgt. First Class (res.) Lidor Porat Hy”d, 31, from Ashdod, a fighter in Battalion 7106 of the 769th “Hiram” Regional Brigade.

According to an initial IDF probe, the incident occurred while forces were operating in IDF-controlled territory amid the ongoing ceasefire. An engineering vehicle drove over a bomb that had been planted by Hezbollah.

Troops stationed nearby to secure the heavy machinery were caught in the blast, resulting in Porat’s death and injuries to nine additional soldiers.

Among the wounded, one soldier is listed in serious condition, four are moderately wounded, and four sustained light injuries. All were evacuated to hospitals for treatment, and their families have been notified.
