JERUSALEM (VINnews)  Israeli troops from the Israel Defense Forces’ 162nd Division have eliminated more than 250 terrorists and dismantled over 405 terrorist infrastructures in ongoing defensive operations in southern Lebanon, the IDF said Sunday.

The operations, conducted south of the Forward Defense Line, aim to neutralize direct threats to communities in northern Israel, the military said. Troops have also located more than 1,000 weapons and munitions items in the area.

During one raid, soldiers recovered body cameras belonging to Hezbollah operatives that contained recordings used for the group’s propaganda efforts, according to the IDF.

The division’s activities include identifying and destroying underground tunnel routes used by Hezbollah, the military said. Footage released by the IDF shows troops operating in the area and discovering the tunnels.

“The IDF will continue to operate with determination to remove threats, maintain the security of the civilians of the State of Israel, and strengthen the forward defense posture,” the military said in a statement.

The operations come amid continued efforts to secure Israel’s northern border following Hezbollah attacks that displaced tens of thousands of Israeli residents.
