Followers of the Belzer chassidus received encouraging news over Shabbos as the Belzer Rebbe returned to public tefillos and tishen following a period of significant weakness during which he had remained at home and did not appear in public.

Due to the Rebbe’s condition over the past two weeks, a planned Shabbos gathering with prominent supporters at the D-City venue in Ma’ale Adumim had been canceled. However, b’chasdei Shamayim, his health improved, and he was able to receive visitors on Thursday night. Over Shabbos, he participated in both tefillos and tishen at the Belzer beis medrash.

Interestingly, Belzer chassidim in the United States—where Shabbos had not yet begun—became aware of the development through an unusual method. A chossid who owns an apartment overlooking Kikar Belz has a security camera facing the well-known “Shabbos lamp” installed on the balcony of Reb Yisrael Avigdor Fried. The light serves as a signal to the community that the Rebbe has entered the tish, and through the camera feed, chassidim abroad were able to follow the update in real time.

All are urged to continue davening for the full recovery of Rav Yissachar Dov ben Miriam.
