WASHINGTON (VINnews) — President Donald Trump on Monday called for late-night host Jimmy Kimmel to be fired, accusing the comedian of inciting violence over remarks made on his ABC show.
In a social media post, Trump criticized a comedy segment involving First Lady Melania Trump and his son Barron Trump and said The Walt Disney Company and ABC should dismiss Kimmel.
Trump also pointed to a recent security incident tied to the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, arguing it underscored the dangers of inflammatory rhetoric.
Kimmel did not immediately respond. Disney and ABC did not immediately comment.
The criticism marked the latest clash between Trump and late-night television hosts, many of whom have frequently targeted him in political satire.
