BORO PARK: BPJCC and Chaveirim Announce Safety Initiative Bringing Free Smoke Alarms to Boro Park Homes

Apr 28, 2026·2 min read

Chaveirim of Boro Park and BPJCC have partnered with the American Red Cross to launch an important new community safety initiative, providing and installing free smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to Boro Park residents.

The program is designed to help keep families safe, prevent tragedies, and ensure homes are properly protected through fire-prevention equipment and education.

Through this free initiative, dedicated Chaveirim volunteers, professionally trained by the American Red Cross, will install smoke and carbon monoxide alarms throughout residents’ homes. Installations will be completed in every room. Families will also receive valuable fire safety education, guidance on prevention, and practical safety tips.

The American Red Cross deserves tremendous hakaras hatov for sponsoring thousands of alarms for this lifesaving program and for providing the professional training and expertise that make the initiative possible.

Installations are typically scheduled within a few weeks of applying. A volunteer from Chaveirim will reach out to you close to your installation to schedule the exact timing – at your convenience.

Residents can sign up now by registering here. https://bpjcc.org/firesafety

Community members may also visit the BPJCC office for in-person registration assistance.

This critically important program is designed to help keep families safe and prevent tragedies through effective fire protection and education.
