WASHINGTON (VINnews) — Former FBI Director James Comey pushed back publicly Tuesday against his latest indictment, releasing a video on Substack in which he framed the charges as politically motivated and signaled he intends to fight the case.
“Nothing has changed with me. I’m still innocent. I’m still not afraid. And I still believe in the independent federal judiciary. So, let’s go,” he said.
The remarks were Comey’s first direct response since the indictment was announced and appeared aimed at portraying the prosecution as part of a broader political campaign against him, a claim he has made in previous legal and public disputes.
Comey, a longtime critic of President Donald Trump, suggested the case reflects efforts by Trump allies to target him. His comments signaled a defiant posture as the case moves forward in court.
The brief video response quickly drew attention online, with the phrase “Let’s go” emerging as Comey’s blunt public message that he does not intend to back down.
