In One Day: 7 Soldiers Injured, 2 Seriously, by Explosive Drone Strikes in Southern Lebanon

The IDF spokesperson announced on Thursday morning that four IDF soldiers were injured on Wednesday, one seriously and two lightly, as a result of a Hezbollah explosive drone attack in southern Lebanon.

The soldiers were evacuated to receive medical treatment at a hospital, and their families were notified.

In two earlier incidents on Wednesday, three soldiers were injured by explosive drone strikes in southern Lebanon, one seriously, one moderately, and one lightly.

In several additional incidents on Wednesday, IDF forces launched interceptors at rockets and suspicious aerial targets in the area where IDF forces are operating in southern Lebanon. B’Chasdei Hashem, there were no casualties among IDF forces.

Last week, a Hezbollah explosive drone hit an IDF cargo carrier at an artillery position on the northern border, setting it on fire and injuring 12 IDF soldiers, two moderately and 10 lightly.

The IDF is adopting measures to counter Hezbollah’s explosive drone attacks—which have emerged as the most serious threat to IDF soldiers on the northern front in recent weeks—including plans to supply troops in southern Lebanon with frangible ammunition.

Meanwhile, the IDF is equipping soldiers in Lebanon with hunting shotguns as a stopgap measure to counter the drones and has instructed troops to deploy protective nets over buildings and military equipment to reduce vulnerability to drone attacks.

Explosive drones fired by Hezbollah have killed three IDF soldiers and injured 38 since the start of the so-called ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.
