A terrorist was eliminated Monday morning after opening fire with an automatic weapon at Israel Border Police forces during an operational activity in the village of Qalandiya.

The incident began after Border Police forces entered the village as part of a pre-planned operational mission in the area.

As the forces entered the village, the terrorist got out of a vehicle armed with a long gun and immediately began firing directly at the troops.

The Border Police officers responded quickly and opened fire, eliminating the terrorist. Baruch Hashem, no Israeli forces were injured in the incident.

Security forces remained at the scene to complete searches and collect additional evidence related to the attempted attack.
